Notice:
These results are not the official rulings and records.
THE
PURINA BEAGLE AWARD RULES
ENTRIES:
All hounds drawn in any one, several, or
all of the events included in the Purina Award Program, as selected by the
Award Committee, shall be eligible for points applicable to the Purina Beagle
Award.
THE PROGRAMS; The Purina Brace Beagle Award for the season shall consist of the seven
futurity trials conducted by the seven Beagle Federations during the
spring. These are:
*Eastern
Beagle Federation *Midwestern
Beagle Federation
*Heartland
Beagle Federation *Northeastern
Beagle Federation
*International
Beagle Federation *Southern
Beagle Federation
*Mid-Dixie
Beagle Federation
(It is not
necessary for a hound to compete in all of the above listed trials. These are the only ones in which points may
be earned toward the Purina Beagle Award during the current field trial
season.)
SCORING:
There will be a winner in each of the
four classes (13” + 15” Dogs, 13” + 15” Bitches). The top scoring beagle overall will be named
the Outstanding Field Trial Beagle.
Award scoring will be based on the wins and places the hounds receive in
the listed trials. For example, if one
hound wins three firsts in three of the trials and another hound wins three
firsts and a second, the hound with the three firsts and a second would be the
winner. This means that should there be
a tie in the number of trials a dog wins, then the seconds, thirds, and fourths
a hound has won would be the deciding factor.
If there is a tie in the number of
wins and places, then the deciding factor is the points. The points are determined for this award the
same way they are determined for licensed trials. The dog placing first would receive one point
for every dog entered in his class. The
second place dog would receive one-half point for each dog entered in this
class, etc.
TABULATION: Tabulation will be made from the official record of wins as published in Hounds
and Hunting. It will be kept current
as reports of dogs drawn and the winners in each trial are made a matter of
record in the permanent files of Hounds and Hunting.
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: Public announcement of the winner of the Purina Beagle Award will be made
in Hounds and Hunting magazine and will be considered official and
final. Publicity releases on the winners
will be distributed nationally.
